A Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation law, Mark Steevens attended the University of Southern California on a baseball scholarship where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1985. While attending Southwestern University School of Law he was a two year member of the "Moot Court Honors Society". He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1991.

Prior to committing himself to representing injured workers, he was a principal in a civil litigation firm, handling a variety of cases in both the state and federal courts. His clients ranged from insurance companies to computer software distributors, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, non-profit athletic associations, small and large corporations and individual homeowners.

For the past 30 plus years he has successfully argued and tried cases in the state, federal and bankruptcy courts, the California Courts of Appeal and the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. He is licensed to practice law before the state and federal courts in California.

He is a member of the California and Orange County Bar Associations and a sustaining member of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association. Based upon his successful efforts on behalf of injured workers, he was admitted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum whose membership is limited to lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience and excellence in advocacy by achieving a trial verdict, award of settlement in the amount of one million dollars or more. He is also listed in the Martindale-Hubble Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, which recognizes attorneys with the "Highest Possible Peer Review Rating in Legal and Ethical Standards".
